Features
Route, Spot, Live, and More — each one built around a real moment of a journey, from planning at home to stepping off at your station.
Pick any two of 8,975 stations, choose your date and quota — General, Tatkal, and the rest — and get every train on the route with timings, classes, and fares. Popular routes and your recent searches are one tap away.
Spot any train by number or name and follow it live: current position on the map, speed, delay, and the next stop with an ETA. Tracking keeps going in the background while you do other things.
Arrivals and departures for any station, in the time window you care about, with filters for local and long-distance trains. The board tells you plainly when it is showing cached data instead of a live refresh.
Every stop on the route with scheduled and actual times, running days, and the train's path drawn on the map — built from the bundled directory, so the timeline opens instantly even before the network answers.
Type a PNR, paste it from an SMS, or speak it. A valid PNR shows its real status; an unknown one says so outright — never dressed up as a completed journey.
Set an alarm for your stop, minutes before arrival, and it fires even if the app was closed — exact alarms, re-armed after a reboot, with vibration. Sleep through the night stretch; wake for your station.
Station and train directories, search, history, and route results all work with no connection at all. Download offline map regions for the stretches you travel, and live data picks up again when you're back in coverage.
The statutory onboard food tariff, in the app, with a bill calculator so you know what a meal should cost before you order it. No more guessing at the pantry car.
The helpline directory lives in More, ready to call — plus your history across routes, trains, stations, and PNRs, and a real Settings screen for theme, language, and notifications.
Honest data
Some of what looks like live rail data is, in truth, derived on your phone. RailTrack never dresses it up. Every value in the app carries its provenance, so you always know what you're looking at — and what to double-check before you act on it.
Running status, station boards, and PNR come from rail data sources when you're connected, and are shown as live only then.
Route-search fares and seat availability are computed on-device from the timetable, and the map position between status updates is projected from the schedule. Both are labeled “Estimated” wherever they appear.
Directories, search, history, and route results work entirely offline. Live status, real boards, and PNR need a connection, and the app says so instead of silently showing stale data.
Privacy
Supporter
RailTrack is free, and staying that way is the deal: there are no ads and no paywalled features. If the app earns its keep on your journeys, a voluntary tip through Google Play — one-time or monthly — helps keep it that way.
A tip unlocks nothing. Every feature is already yours. Supporters simply get a thank-you in the app once their total tips reach ₹10 — and a monthly tip can be cancelled anytime from your Google Play subscriptions.
Made for India
All train times are Indian Standard Time, no matter what your phone's clock is set to. All prices are in rupees. And the whole interface speaks English and Hindi — switch anytime from Settings, no restart needed.
FAQ
No. RailTrack is an independent companion built by its developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Indian Railways, IRCTC, NTES, or ConfirmTkt. For booking tickets and official announcements, use the official channels.
No — RailTrack does not sell tickets. It helps you plan and follow a journey; booking itself happens through the official or partner booking channels.
Because they are. Route-search fares and seat availability are computed on your device from timetable data rather than fetched from a live inventory, and the map position between live updates is projected from the schedule. The label is the point: use estimates for planning, and confirm a booking-critical detail with the official source.
Partly, and honestly so. Station and train directories, search, history, and route results work fully offline, and you can download map regions ahead of a trip. Live running status, real station boards, and PNR checks need a connection.
No. There is no sign-in and no server-side profile. Your searches, alarms, and favourites live on your phone, and uninstalling the app removes them.
Nothing extra — deliberately. Tips are goodwill: they keep the app free and ad-free for everyone. A monthly tip can be cancelled anytime from Google Play subscriptions.
Download RailTrack, find your train, and travel with a companion that tells you the truth about its own data.
